[glow=Black,2,300]~ Eulogy ~[/glow]
When does an Icon become a legend? Who decides, how are you told.
Some people just know, they feel it, the elevation, and their ascendance from ordinary man...to god.
Only some men can be called elite, the best in the business, a legend.
"Gentleman" Jerry Garcia
This man was a legend, a man amongst men, a soldier amongst the brave, and more importantly...
[glow=Black,2,300]...A Friend...[/glow]
He was seen as a wise man, an elder and a fatherly figure to a young boy who he had taken under his wing as his own. The saddest part of this is that he left before he got the chance to see his boy lift the title. And if any happiness can be found at this tragic time, "Gentleman" Jerry Garcia died as he lived, involved with the sport he loved the most and around the people he loved the most.
He will be sorely missed...

A flash of lightning and a loud rumble of thunder echoes through the evening sky. The gentle tip tap of the rain on a window is heard as Calaz's face reflects out of it. He turns around to meet another window going through into a room. The room looks like an operating theatre. Plain white walls and floor, one solitary window toward the roof. Inside the room are computers and monitors displaying all sorts of information, the concentration is on the one monitor with the straight line going horizontally along it. A heart rate monitor and the person who it’s attached to is not breathing. Doctors are trying desperately to revive the un-conscious man. A number of seconds pass and they stop, they check there watches and switch off the machines. Calaz looks through the window, distraught, confused, and upset. A doctor in a green operating cloak leaves the room and stands by Calaz's side, he sighs and pulls the mask down from over his face.

I'm sorry Mr. Calaz, we couldn't save him, we gave it our best shot but the heart attack was too strong, there was nothing we could do...I'm sorry...

Calaz watches on in disbelief as they place a cloth over the mans head, Calaz bows his head slowly and put up his hood from his all black hoody he is wearing.

Well we will send Mr. Garcia's body to the morgue, from there they will contact you and sort out funeral arrangements, but for now, I think it is in your best interests to go home and get some sleep, it's been a long hard night for everyone

The doctor holds out his hand and Calaz obliges with a handshake, Calaz turns on his heels as the doctor goes back into the operating theatre to clean up the area and arrange to move the body. Calaz walks through a set of double doors and into a corridor, sitting on a chair on her own in this corridor is Becs, as she sees Calaz she runs up to him and throws her arms around him sympathetically, Calaz begins to break down onto her shoulder as she tries to calm him down.

I heard what happened and I got here as soon as I could, so what’s happened is he OK?

Calaz still sobbing on the shoulder of Becs runs a hand through his hair and then moves away. His face swelled up with tears.

They couldn't save him, they tried but he wouldn't come back, how could he do this too me Becs how?

Becs embraces Calaz once more and holds him tight. She begins to comfort him by tapping him on the head and back slowly.

Hey, know one is to blame here, especially not you or Jerry. He was an old man, nobody lives for ever and unfortunately his name was called when it was, here come on I'll drive you home

The camera cuts to outside. The thunder still rolls and the lightning still strikes, the rain comes down a lot more heavily now. It clatters into the trees and bushes outside of the hospital. The front doors slide open and out step Calaz and Becs. They both pull there hoods over there heads and make their way over towards Bec's car. She presses a button on the key and car opens, as they both climb in and shake the rain off Calaz pauses after shutting the door; he stares blankly in front, not taking his eyes away from the hospital doors.

I...I can't do it, this Sunday, I can't go into that match without Jerry, he was gonna be there, in my corner, cheering me on, now he wont be, all I will think about is the last image I have of him, lying on that bed motionless. Becs call Mak tell him to pull me out of the match, I can't go through with it

Becs turns to Calaz in utter disgust. She slaps him round the face and he snaps out of his lifeless stare and looks to her as she points at him angrily.

And you think that's what Jerry would want you to do? Take the coward’s way out. No I don't think so, that man didn’t give up on you, just because he's no longer here doesn't mean you should give up on him. It was his dream to see you lift that belt, and come Sunday you will, you will be lifting high above your head, pointing to the sky telling him...showing him you could do it, and that you’ve done him proud!

Calaz leans over and kisses Becs softly but passionately, he pulls away and grabs her hand, as he looks into Becs' eyes a mild smiles grow across both their faces. Calaz looks back at the hospital and then up at the sky, a tear rolls down his face as he begins to speak.

You know what? You're right, I'm gonna do this for Jerry, and he will be there with me at The Aftermath, he will be watching over me the rest of my life. And he will always be with me in my memories and in my heart, and Becs...thanks for teaching me that, now I'm gonna go out there and do it for Jerry...I'm gonna miss him, but we will meet again...someday...

The camera pans out of the car and up into the sky, the rain has stopped and the storm has passed. A clear dark night sky is now present and as the camera fades away a single shooting star moves across the night sky.
