Thor walks out into the parking lot to go for a drive. As he nears his black hummer he presses the auto unlock on his key chain. As he presses the button his hummer explodes. Thor himself was about twenty away when this happens. With a curse he stands there and pulls out his cell phone and make a quick call.
"Yes my Hummer just exploded...No I am not hurt...I am not planning on going anywhere....Yes I will wait..."
Thor ends the call and quickly dials another number in his cell phone. He had to report this accident to his insurance company. After several minutes of button pushing as he follows the directions on how to have his call routed he finally gets the "Please hold for the next available representative". After several minutes of waiting he finally gets through to a claims representative and can now tell what had happened.
"Yes my name is Sah'ta Thor.... S-A-H-apostrophe-T-A space T-H-O-R...Social Security number 543-81-0003"
Thor is again put on hold as the claims representative looks up his policy. Waits starting to get frustrated at being put on hold as he watches his hummer burn.
"Yes I am still here...Well I would like to report that my Hummer suddenly exploded...No I have know clue why it happened...All I did was push the unlock button on my key ring...Alright I will wait."
Thor is put on hold a third time as the claims representative transfer him to a supervisor. As he waits he listens to the cheesy elevator music on the line. Chuckles to himself slightly as he watches fire fire truck and a police car arrive. The fire truck puts out the Hummer's fire as the police officer comes over to ask a few questions. Hands the officer his wallet so he can get his name and social. As he does he covers the speaker on the phone.
"I am talking to the insurance people and I am on hold."
Watches the officer nod and slightly grimace in sympathy. Also watches the officer watches him. He had a few questions for Thor but also knew what a pain in the butt phone calls to custom service could be.
"Yes my claim number is 65340A-H21...Well I don't know what happened...Yes I called the police the officer is looking at the damage now...Of course I will call back after the police report is filed...Thank you for your time."
With a growl he ends the call and slams his phone closed before pocketing it and starts to mutter about stupid phone representatives. After a few moments he calms down and begins to explain what had happened to the police officer. The officer nods and starts to ask a few routine questions. The Fire Truck leaves to go answer another call.
"Do you have any enemies that you know of?"
"No I don't officer."
"Is there any one who would want you dead."
Thor restrains himself from making a smart ass reply. The remark floating through his brain, "Isn't that fucking obvious? Why else would someone blow up my Hummer?". He thinks for a moment and then shakes his head. Takes his wallet back from the officer and returns it to his pocket.
"Not that I know of officer."
"When was the last time you drove your Hummer?"
"Last night."
"Anything strange with the way the vehicle handled when you last drove it?"
Thinks back to see if he had noticed anything strange in the way the Hummer had handled when driven and comes up blank.
"Nope she handled quite well. Nothing strange at all."
"Any suspicious activity around here lately?"
"Not that I have noticed."
Watches the officer nod then put away his notebook. The officer turns to Thor and grins.
"Well Thor you are going to have to wait until someone from forensics takes a look at the wreckage to find out what caused the explosion."
Thor nods slowly and waits a moment as he wonders just who could have something against him bad enough to explode his Hummer.
"I understand and really this is frustrating since I know have to buy another vehicle to get around. And the idiots at the insurance company will try to find a way out of honoring the insurance premium."
"Well I know you figure it out. I know you figure most things out in the end anyway Thor. I am a major fan of yours and watch every Side Effect to see the excitement. I really hope you and Shadow kick the Meds asses this week. It was amazing how you dealt with those loud mouths in Outlaw Inc."
"Thanks for the support. And we plan on kicking Ritalin and Prozac across the ring this up coming Side Effect."
Reaches into his back pocket and hands the officer a pair of tickets to the upcoming Side Effect and smiles.
"Here you go come watch the ass kicking live. Now I have to go and make a few phone calls to see who will let me buy a car first thing in the morning."
