The arena light go off and the crowd hushes as they wait to see what is going on. They knew that there were quite a few superstars on the XVI roster who had a flare for the dramatic. Seconds later the lights come back on and Thor is kneeling on one leg his head bowed. The black feathered wings on his cloak spread wide. His long black hair was pulled back into a pony tail. Standing behind him was his tag team partner Shadow.
Slowly Thor stands up and turns to look at the audience. Once on his feet he grabs a microphone out of the ring announcer's hand with his left hand and brings it slowly to his lips as he looks around the arena. He could various signs proclaiming where the fan's loyalties were but that didn't distract him of what he was thinking. His right hand comes to rest on the hilt of the sword on his right hip.
"I have realized lately that I haven't spent much time in the ring with you the fans. But that is something I am going to change here tonight. You see I am going to need your guys help with something."
Pauses a moment to let the message sink into the audience. As it does a low mummer can be heard from all corners of the arena.
"You see I have a dilemma. The Unholy Legion has a big match this week against the Meds. Both of our opponents are former XVI Champions. Now you might be wondering were the problem is? I need you the fans to start tell the management of this company what you the fans want to see."
Stops as the crowd starts to chant his name and the name of the Unholy Legion. He lets the chanting go on for several minutes before he raises his hands for silence as he brings the microphone back to his lips.
"Did you know this match against the Meds marks my 13th match in XVI? I have been on ten of the fourteen XVI cards. That is only one week off since I joined the active roster. Anyway that is beside the point. But what I have to say is this, when the Unholy Legion face the Meds this week it is a rematch of sorts. The only thing that is different this time around is I have a better tag team partner.
Now some of you may be wondering what I mean by this being a rematch. Well in my second match with XVI I faced the Meds with Versage Flames as my tag team partner. The Meds won that match but this time around they won't be so lucky."
Stops a moment as more cheering and some scattered booing is heard from the audience. As he listens to it he turns back to have a brief whispered conversation with Shadow. Shadow nods in agreement with what had had said.
"Now lets talk about my time here in XVI. I have had one of the busiest work schedules in the company. My debut match was the week before Valentine's Massacre, the first XVI Pay Per View, and was against four other debuting superstars. Lets take a moment to take a look at where these stars are now and what they have done in the time they have been in XVI."
Jordan "Bullet Proof" Glass well he has went far and is now in the World Title hunt. He is a former Xtreme Title holder. All in all he is an awesome wrestler and is a future Hall of Famer."
Stops to listen to the "Jordan Glass" chants coming from the fans and chuckles softly.
"Ritalin is a former NextGen Title holder and one of my opponents this week. One of the XVI's goofier stars to be sure. Seems to not be able to go anywhere with out his tag partner Prozac. "
"Meds" chants start to come loudly from the seats of the arena. Thor nods to himself slowly as he lets them chant away actually amused by the chants.
"Versage Flames has been on some sort of personal leave since Fool's Revenge so hasn't had a match since then. And Damien Jones well he quit the week after his debut. Now if my reasoning is correct of the folk who debuted in that match the week we have two former XVI Champions and Me.
I have had two number 1 contenders matches for the Xtreme Title. Both of which the management decided to have me lose. I was in the first NextGen Title match a Fool's Revenge. I heard the management decided I was too good to hold the NextGen Title. And two weeks ago Rachel won the Xtreme Title in the Hellfire Fun House match. Some management decision that Rachel was the best suited to hold the title. Now who really knows what really goes on in the managements heads?"
Stops as the crowd starts to boo at the mention of Rachel being the Xtreme Champion. After that a hush falls over the arena waiting to see were Thor going to to take this next.
"Now let me continue this little history lesson. Of the men who debuted the Side Effect before the Valentine's Massacre Pay Per View I have had the most matches yet the weakest push. I am sure there are several management reasons for this. Anyway now lets look at some facts here. I am the smallest man on the roster. I have been in the most variety of matches in XVI.
Fatal Five Way matches, Tag Team matches, 6 man Battle Royals, Triple Threat ladder matches, and Fatal Four Way matches. I have literally had matches against most of the XVI locker room."
Pauses a moment and lets the crowd chatter a moment as he licks his lips and slowly walks around the ring to look at all sections of the audience.
"Now back to what I was saying about the matches I have been in. The Meds have only been in one tag team match while I have been in two. Come Side Effect you will see why the Unholy Legion is the most dominate Tag Team in XVI. You will see that even though both Ritalin and Prozac are former Champions that Shadow and I are the best when it comes to be a tag team."
Grins evilly as he turns to face Shadow to see if he has anything to say. Shadow shakes his head no and Thor turns back to to the audience. As he does he pulls a piece of paper from his cloak pocket and looks at it a moment.
"Now I mentioned a dilemma earlier. In my hand is an offer from a rival wrestling promotion. You see my skills have been noticed by other companies in the industry and I have been rather reluctant to take them up on their offers. Well that is until this offer came around. Now XVI is starting up a Tag Team Division so I am for sure sticking around until it is up and running. But you know after that I don't know. I what you the fans to let me and the XVI management what you think of my talents."
The fans start chanting as Thor puts the paper back in his pocket and nods slowly as he raises his hands listening to the chanting.
"XVI! Thor! Unholy Legion! XVI! Thor! Unholy Legion! XVI!"
