It was a foggy morning around the rocky area of Jordan Glass's mansion. The wind drafted around the trees, and the smoke rose up into the air from the large limestone fireplace. Jake Xavier sat and looked out the windows at all the beautiful scenery as he sat playing a true game of intelligence, strategy, and warfare. Chess. Jake looked across the chess board in 'the' room, looking into the eyes of Jordan Glass as he moved a chess piece, placing the pawn ahead two squares on the checkered board. Jake studied the board, looking for a advantage to seize upon the move that Glass just made. To his surprise, he could not find anything to do. So he done something normal in a game of chess, he sacrificed a pawn.
..:Jake Xavier:.. A pawn...what a piece, is it not? It can be seen as small, frail, with no sense of aggression. It does not strike fear in the eyes of others, rather, it seems it strikes the sense of laughter.
Yet, did you ever notice, that the pawn is the best piece in a game of War? You can play them to do what ever you want them to. You act like a puppet master, and pull on their strings all day long, making them even more weak and useless.
A pawn, a pawn is something like that we witness every day in XVI. We know two pawns, both which have fallen to us before. Both who will always fall to us in the future. They are the Meds. We control them. They think that they are better then us, rather they think that they can defeat us, but rather they just want to be like us in each and every way.
They look up to us, because we are the truly better wrestlers, better fighters, all around better then them. Yet once again, Ritalin wants to prove himself and fight me. He wants to try to defeat me, he wants to say that he could be the first person in XVI to defeat me. I think he's wrong.
Jake swallows hard, and watches Jordan make another move. The move to him was a surprise. He didn't go for the pawn, instead, he moved his way up, trying to go right after the main piece of the board. The King.
..:Jordan Glass:.. Check.
Jake Xavier sighed quietly, and quickly moved a piece, taking his bishop off the board with his knight. Jake wanted to laugh, but instead he just smirked. He didn't want to disrupt the concentration of Glass, but he knew that his ramblings on The Meds just about done it anyway.
..:Jake Xavier:.. I will go on to defeat Ritalin again this come Side Effect. I will do exactly what I done at A Fool's Revenge. I will hurt him. I will make him feel pain. I will make him feel like the pawn that he is. I will make him feel all out misery. I will make him scream like the bitch that he is. I will show him what it's like to try to piss me off. I will show him why I am the better fighter. I will show him why I am, the best.
Jake continues to wait for Jordan to move as he stares out the window again. He looked up into the sky, and saw a sign of a rainstorm. He looked back at the board as Glass moved his game piece ahead. This time, he has moved once again another pawn. Jake smirked again at the stupid move. He slid his wooden game piece, shaped like a castle down across the board and removed his bishop. Then, Jake faced out the window again, and this time, to his surprise, a rain drop fell to the ground. Then another, then another. It was raining.

| Every move has a reaction .. |
As the raindrops continued to call atop the Jordan "Bullet Proof" Glass and Jake Xavier, Jordan saw that his pawn had been taken. He sighed at the loss, but figured he still had a chance to win this game, unlike his surety that he would be victorious at Side Effect.
He rejoiced on the inside, celebrating that Jake had not seen his knight that he had moved forward. It seemed Jake's many years expierience at chess would not prove him the better today. He moved his wooden horse-shaped figurine forward, taking Jake's queen.
Jordan ~ Check.
He smiled and watched the board as Jake deciphered what had just happened and attempted to find a way to retaliate.
Jordan ~ You are correct, many people do find the pawn humorous. They fail to realize it is one of the most critical pieces of a plan that will fall together.
For every plan that will be brought together for the good of one, another needs to fall from grace. Hence, the pawn is the structure of every worth-while plan that has ever taken place. There is no way to deny it. For one to gain, another must suffer. This is life, in all it's sadistic glory.
Jake continues to search for a plausable winning move he can make to turn the tables in his favor. Jordan smiles, but not in the matter that Jake would notice. He continues to speak as the rain pounds their surroundings.
Jordan ~ You see, Corporal Punishment is simpley a pawn in my rise to domination.
Jordan stops, correcting himself.
Jordan ~ Sorry, our rise to domination.
Jake chuckles slightly at Jordan's mistake, which was one he made often.
Jordan ~ Just as The Med's were, not to mention Versage Flames, Sah'ta Thor and many others, Corporal Punishment and Ritalin are simpley pawns in OUR rise to domination. Nothing more, nothing less.
I say nothing less for the reason that without them, we would not be able to rise at all. We would just remain at the same spot for eternity. This is not desired by The Darkness, not in the slightest. We MUST rise to power, it is not an option.
Jordan begins to survey the board as well, searching for a possible way that Jake could surpass him in the game. He hoped there was none, but where there is a will, there is a way.
| .. except if the move is so large and destructive, nothing is left to react. |

Jake just sat there, trying to think about the game, only to get the word's from Jordan echoing in his head. “Just as The Med's were, not to mention Versage Flames, Sah'ta Thor and many others, Corporal Punishment and Ritalin are simply pawns in OUR rise to domination. Nothing more, nothing less.” He kept hearing those words, over, and over, until he snapped. He seen began to nod in agreement with Glass. He smirked, and looked at him straight in the eyes. They were dark, exactly like his own. They looked like two pieces of coal set in a layer of snow, as if the snow was his head.
..:Jake Xavier :.. You are smart Jordan. My .. I mean our .. quest for domination has started, hasn't it? We have destroyed so many, so quickly. I've been here for only two shows and I'm holding the Xtreme Vicious Intent NextGen Title, as well as being unbeaten. Your stay in this company hasn't been much longer, and thus far you're unbeaten as well. On top of that, you hold the Xtreme Vicious Intent XTreme title. Along with you, we are the greatest wrestlers the world has ever seen .. with the exception of a handpicked few.
As for The Meds, I agree with you entirely. They were nothing which could ever harm us or harm The Darkness, that which gives us life, that which helps us breathe, that which helps us set out to destroy them. Corporal Punishment will be the next pawn we use, as you will defeat him. I will rip that little bastard Ritalin apart so quick in our match .. as always.
Jake chuckled lightly, moving his pawn up, right next to his knight. His move seemed stupid, leaving his Bishop open for an attack, but there was something that Jordan failed to notice. And his temptation of the move made him quickly jump into action. Sliding his knight toward the Bishop, getting the piece taken off the board, he almost began to gloat for making such a good move. That was until Jake moved a piece that shocked Jordan, his rook. He moved the small wooden carving up the board, heading for one object which Jordan owned ..
..:Jake Xavier:.. Checkmate.
Jordan sighed and put his head down, eyes leveling with the board so he could study it to make sure it was a legitamate call. When he noticed he really was defeated he was shocked. He closed his fists in anger. Yet .. Jake's response was different. He leaned back on his chair, laying his feet on the table and slid his hands behind his head, rejoicing in his victory. Exactly how he would after Side Effect. Yes ..
..:Jake Xavier:.. Pawns. We will sacrifice them, destroy them and distract them, but in the end I .. I mean we .. will dominate. - Fin
